Wifi tether with ics

Can we make a sticky thread for the Tethering solutions? I know that tethering works with Rooted devices.... Anyone tried with Xperia Ray, Xperia S, Xperia Sola etc?

Any way to do this with a Nokia phone with Symbian (N97 mini) and joikuspot or some other app? I'm completely new to Android and Sony Tab, and not confident to start "rooting" (not even sure what that is) or anything too technical. Just want to get my internet from my Nokia to my Sony Tablet. I also have bluetooth capability on my Nokia, but can't seem to do it that way either.

I can connect to internet through my wife's HTC moble, which is also running ICS. Easiest setup ever.
