ask for 2818

hello, I have a tablet Rockchip RK 2818. I tried upgrading from Android 2.1 to 2.2 usingthe image file from the site. but the process failed and now my tablet can not be turned on.
My question, this failure resulted in damage to hardware or just software alone?service center will not accept warranty claims.
