1) I still have to reboot the tablet to get video, audio, and image files to show up once I have added them to the micro_SD card let me clarify, I can see them on the card and can manually play them, but apps like Gallery, Nemoplayer, etc don't see them until after a reboot.
2) I'm able to play more video files than before. I had some h264 mpeg4s that would not play before, now they play flawlessly.
