Just had a thought - I'm clever that way - let them enter a password ONLY if they write it down and put it in a sealed envelope which they give to you BEFORE they enter it!!
Edit: if they forget the password and have to open the envelope then they are not allowed to change it and you get to keep the opened envelope. That way they may learn that they are not as clever as they think! (Well not as clever as me!)
