I meant that I would have butchered it if i did a DIY job. If you have the skills for a DIY do your thing. I suck on electrical DIY. I fly R/C helicopters and theres some soldering involved and I try not to solder anything. I always let someone else do it for me.

thosHalf the power they use is wasted just trying to keep itself going. You're better off with the USB adapter, IMO.

The Magellan AC adapter works as well.

Link here: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220747046600&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Physical build quality better than original, and even has ROHS. Branded by Phihong Taiwan, which also makes my Acer Liquid charger.

Both Magellan chargers have iron cores.

Plug is straight though

I found the following at Deal Extreme:

9600mAh Rechargeable Portable Emergency Power with Phone Adapters

$41.20 - 9600mAh Rechargeable Portable Emergency Power with Phone Adapters - Chargers
$sku_53689_1.jpg
It looks like it may work for the S7 as an alternate power supply/charger.

Dave

PS:
I found another charger, and I ordered it.

$47.06 - 9600mAh Portable Emergency Power Rechargeable Battery Pack for Cell Phone/iPod/iPhone/MP3/MP4/PSP - Batteries

I think the 9600mah will provide enough power for the S7 to charge a few times!
Although the output is only .7 amps, it should still charge/help extend the run time.
This one is a better shape to compliment the S7.
I'll let you know when it arrives.

After reviewing the specs, I changed my order to the top model ($41.20).
It has an output of 2.0 amps. This should result in a faster charge rate.

Watch your local Wal-Mart. I found a Motorola car charger for a phone that works PERFECTLY
with the S7. It was in the Clearance aisle and was only $5.00. I bought two of them.
It charges as fast as my home charger. Also, I found a power supply for an old
USB hub that is rated at 5.0V and 2.5A. I changed the plug to the proper one (from another
wall-wart) and it works great. I keep one on my nightstand for nighttime charging and one
on my computer table, just in case I need it. I also bought 2 of the car chargers and have
one in each car. With these power options and the battery pack I ordered from Deal Extreme
I should be fine wherever I go. (My portable battery pack in somewhere between China and the States)

Peace,
Dave

Update to Battery Pack from Deal Extreme.

It is very nice. I have it charging right now, but
it came with over 50% charge. Unfortunately,
none of the tips fit. I with be modding a cable
so I can use it. But, all the other connections
will fit my other devices.

Still worth the money!

Is it possible to get a battery pack with a larger capacity than the one that Huawei gives you?

Look at posts 98 and 99 in this thread. I ordered the top one in post 98.
It is an excellent way to charge your S7 on the go.
Only problem I found was there wasn't a correct tip.
I just built my own cable and now have plenty of battery
power when not near an outlet or my car.
Great for geocaching.

As far as an internal option, I don't think so.
The S7 slim has a higher rated battery, but
I don't think it would fit the standard S7.
