tablet security wep orwpa/wpa2 psk

my mid 2.3 gingerbread tablet only seems to work on wirles secruity of wep not the more update wpa/wpa2 psk is there any way i can make itt work on the psk version as i have changed my wirless to wep but that seems pointless when the new version is psk and all my friends and family have the psk version so outside my home the tablet is pretty useless as i can not exactly ask all my freinds and family to change thier secruity back to wep any ideas would be great thanks
