Accepted Update on 7" SYTABEX7-2 - Now I can't power up the device

While I am not technically inept, this device is making me feel so...I accepted the update available which took several hours, I left the device plugged in over night to finish the update. This morning there was a message to update or reset, I hit reset and now cannot power it up....have I fried the battery?
