There has been neither any Android 1.7 nor 1.8 version. 1.0, 1.1, 1.5, 1.6, 2.0, 2.1 and current 2.2 are the existing versions. All other are "fakes".
As a general rule, a new version adds features, but in turn requires better hardware to perform well.

Build number that changes. These a build number and it's 1.6 is the firmware. 1.8.2, 1.8.4, 1.9_88

1.8.2 drops Google apps to increase speed. 1.9_88 adds new web cam/capture software, ADSL app, settings + settings storage (you will need to use microsSDHC) settings get saved two ways. There's more to add oh yes battery life has increased way over 3.5 hrs. I still run MySettings and reduce the LCD from 100% to 50%. Finally disable that vibrating feature.

Ok how do we get youtube videos working if we can not get flash on these units? I have a epad with VIA using 1.7.4 flytouch android. Another issue is that it will only start downloading but never finish what can I do to fix that? I appreciate the help and willing to expirament with this unit so we may all learn what really works and what does not. Thanks
