I also tried Droidphp but lack of documentation stopped me, so I bought Bit Web Server and managed to move the root folder to my external SD card, and tested phpinfo and phpmyadmin. I'll test some other things later.

Just tossed a scheduling system that I've been working with on this called Booked Scheduler (formerly PHPscheduleIt) and dropped the following on their forum:

Kind of an FYI, I just installed Booked 2.5.4 on my Android tablet, not sure how much works and it took a little effort to determine the correct settings, but it installed and imported the sample data. This was done using the Bit Web Server app from the Play store, cost was $3.00usd. Mostly I wanted a mobile development platform for learning things like PHP and figured I would try installing Booked as a test. Note the 127.0.0.1 loopback address.

This is running on a Lenovo Yoga 10 and seems to be pretty reasonable performance when I connect from my laptop across my WiFi. Should work better on faster machines with real quad core processors.

One nice thing about Bit Web Server is that it gives an error console at the top of the page to help sort out problems. Until you get the database set up with the account info in the Booked Config file, there will be errors listed because that user doesn't exit and doesn't have permissions. Once I fixed a couple of things in config the /Web/install worked fine with no errors.

I have this set to put the root web folder on my "external" SD card so I don't eat up too much room on the internal storage.

Two more for you, got joomla! installed, needed to use Chrome to install it because Dolphin was giving me a security certificate error.
