connecting an external DVD player to the Acer Iconia A500

Hi from Orange Australia.Since the App MX Video Player was released, I have been able to watch movies, TV shows etc downloaded to an external HD (without Wi Fi connection) through the usb connection.This is great but I would like to take this one step further and be able to play DVD movies from an external DVD player again using the usb connection.Has anyone tried this and/or is it possible ?

Not on HONEYCOMB. The general concensus is that 3.2.1 does not have support for CD/DVD the only way is to copy on to a USB STICK and play from there.

You may have to convert them to mp4 - the tablet plays them well. The player apps should be able to play vob's - not 100% sure.
