How to put X5a tablet with G-sensor into recovery mode?

I cannot seem to find a clear answer to this question, but can someone post a link to a thread or explain to me how to put an x5a tablet with g-sensor running 2.1 froyo into recovery mode? Not using adb if it is possible. Also, is there a recommended ROM out for this device besides 2.1? I'm currently looking at tnt lite. The main reason I wanted to put a custom ROM on this device is because of the problem with widgets which I am still unable to solve.
