Archos' Promotional Video:

Archos intros 80 G9 and 101 G9 Android 3.1 tablets: 1.5GHz CPU, 250GB HDD, 3G-ready (hands-on) at Engadget

Archos has unveiled their new Gen9 tablets, continuing to improve upon the experience of their Gen8 Tablets, by including Android Honeycomb (Android 3.1), full Google Market access, a full 250 GB HDD, 720p front-facing webcam, and by including an option to have a 3G dongle that fits perfectly into a slot on the side. The 3G dongle (if purchased) also doubles as an Air-Card for a laptop, with Windows or Mac capabilities.

For pricing:
The 80 (8" screen) will be around $279, and the 101 (10.1" screen) will be around $349.

Some Tech specs:
Display characteristics • 8”: 1024 x 768 • 10.1”: 1280 x 800
Processor • ARM dual-core CORTEX A9 OMAP4 1.5 GHz • 3D OpenGL (ES 2.0)
Capacity • Flash Memory: 16 GB* + microSD Slot (SDHC compatible) • HDD memory: 250 GB*
Interfaces • USB slave: Mobile Transfer Protocol (MTP) • USB host: Mass Storage Class (MSC) (Micro USB/USB Host cable sold separately) • microSD (SDHC compatible) • HDMI output6 (Mini HDMI / HDMI cable sold separately)
Dimensions & weight • ARCHOS 80 G9 Flash series: 226 mm x 155.3 mm x 11.7 mm (8.90 x 6.11 x 0.46 inch) - 465g (17 oz)

• ARCHOS 101 G9 Flash series: 276 mm x 167.3 mm x 12.6 mm (10.86 x 6.59 x 0.50 inch) - 649g (23.8 oz)

• Video playback time7: up to 7 hrs
• Internet navigation time 7: up to 10 hrs

Hard drive will be Seagate's 7mm Momentus Thin, so it'll fit all 250 GB in a slim package.

The one thing I'm worried about is RAM. The Gen8 tablets only had 256 Megs of RAM. It made for a slightly sluggish UI experience, although the graphics support was second to none in a device that cheap with that low of RAM, I personally had NO problem playing Wave Blazer or Turbofly 3D on my own Archos 70 IT w/250 GB HDD (Gen8).

I couldn't see a User-Generated News forum here so I posted this here. Maybe it'll get moved to the main News forum, this is huge. $279 for a damn decent Honeycomb tablet?
