New Archos Owner

I am a happy owner of a new Archos 7 (250 Gb HDD) tablet and new to the forum as well. Having a HTC Hero phone got me hooked on Android so a tablet a natural next step.

I look forward to looking around and learning. Now, it's over to the newbie area.

Welcome, Just so you will not get confused. That model is known as the Archos 7o or 70.They never made the 7 with 250gb HD. So when you look and search. search on Archos Gen8 and 70 series.
The Archos offers the 7 in both the Home Tablet and the Arnova brand. They are similar, but do not have the feature capability of the Gen8 70.

What numbers do I have to check to see what Gen my unit is?

The front of your unit at the bottom will say "Archos 7o Internet Tablet" for the 70/Gen 8. The Front of your unit will say "Archos 7 Home Tablet" for the Gen 7 and 7.5 series.
