Our favorite eBook reader seems to have received several 'upgrades' and the most recent one caused an increase in speed. The Barnes and Noble Nook has seen many upgrades, or hacks as B & N would call it, since being released. These hacks include a full rooting of the tablet, and its recovery was accessed. Now some guys over at XDA have over-clocked the 800MHz device to a new found speed of 950MHz, while keeping its stability. This was all done by a simple flash-able kernel, and anyone that has rooted their Nook can follow in their footsteps.

How does that speed boost sound? Is that enough to make you enjoy your eBooks even more or is battery life more important. Share your thoughts with us.

According to the XDA post, they lowered the voltage to the chip, so it should actually improve battery life... but I'd like to hear somebody's results post 'upgrade'.
