You can put a MPEG4 file on the SD card and play it.
Whatg I don't know is where to get a legal and affordable movie in MPG4 format that I can download. Any thoughts on that?

just use you regular movie d/l site and convert with handbreak. it is a free sourceforge video converter. i converted mine and had very little if any quality degradation. as for the setting read gadgetrants suggestions: http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...using-handbrake-convert-video-nook-color.html. i just used the ones in step 1 quick overview. but, you can play as much as you like with this program.

There are also programs for video convertion for the iPad that works well. Then you don't need to fiddle with what size to convert it to.

(Note: If the resulting file larger then 250Mb I'd look for another converter or change the settings. Most I've done were around 160 to 180Mb.)
