i turn on my tablet and it wants a password and i didnt put a password on it to start with can anyone help

Passwords don't spontaneously generate themselves. If you don't know the password, you're likely going to have to enter recovery and factory reset, which will wipe all data.
If this is Google's factory reset protection you're trying to bypass, unless you have an older version of Android there's no way to get around knowing the password.

If there are no instructions there specifically for your tablet, try some of the methods for other tablets. One of them will probably work and you won't hurt anything by trying.
