PC to Tablet file transfer via WiFi

I've been using Software Data Cable. It lets you transfer files via FTP within a Wifi network. It's fairly well explained and works well for me. I tried Dropbox, but I don't have great internet access & it used too much of my bandwidth if I leave it running.

Proably stupid question.

Is there a way to browse my PC and transfer files via WiFi rather than having to connect via the USB?

SwiFTP on the tablet and Fillezilla on the desktop works wonderfully for me. Both free.
I've also put swiFTP on my phone as well with excellent results
