Remote access to PC via tablet

What is the best way to access and download files off a PC at home remotly via tablet over wifi.

is there any way to lock it down so not putting home PC /network at risk?

I have network shares set up on my PC so that you need a username and password.

Then I use ES File Explorer to access the shares over the network.

Been reading up a bit and giving PockectCloud a try out.

if you want to be able to run your pc from a tablet and access files, try splashtop - i also use it to play my pc games

Main thing looking to be able to do is to be able to transfer files from PC to tablet. Ability to use programs on pc is secondary
