Poor Picture Sharpness in Gallery

I've just bought the Acer A500 Iconia tablet which i'm really pleased with except for one annoying thing.

When I view photos in the Gallery the default size pics are slightly fuzzy and lack sharpness (like a cheap low res digital photo frame) , however if you zoom in the sharpness kicks in and the image looks crystal clear. If you then zoom back to the default size this sharpness is maintained but is lost again when you navigate to the next image (and even back again!). You have to do this zoom in/out EVERY TIME to see the photo in all it's glory!

This occurs on my Picasa photos and usb connected photos.

I've also tried a different viewer called 'JustPictures' which has the same issue and the the same zoom in/out fix resolves out.

Images viewed in Picasa via the web browser are fine.

Anyone else having the same problem and know of any fix or better image viewer?

Or is this a standard android 3 problem?

I think the built-in nemoPlayer is better than Gallery in terms of sharpness. But the processing time in nemoPlayer is longer.

Thanks, but nemoPlayer doesn't seem to be able access Picasa photos, which is what I need,

I have found Quickpic fantastic for picture quality.

Just to let you know, this is a known issue that is being worked on at Google. If you want to monitor the dev thread there, you can access it here: honeycomb gallery image quality display issues - Google Mobile Help

I know that this does not resolve your issue as of now, but hopefully it provides a little reassurance that a) it isn't just you and b) it is being looked at.
