very poor wifi connection range HELP!

I just got my new flytouch 3 tablet and i have to be right next to the router to connect to our wireless at home. How can i get a better range?

My range was bad w/mine also. I couldn't pick up in some areas of the house(porch, upstairs etc.) Bought an extended range router on Ebay for about $30 and now it works from everywhere. I think these things have inherently weak wifi.

Yeah the NIC is inherently bad so you need to buy a wifi signal booster. They have gotten cheaper.

What if you are elsewhere other than your house, say picking up Wi-Fi from Starbucks ?
I have yet to try at any free hotspots but have to wonder if they intended you to use 3G when you take this outside and used a cheap NIC

Because the internal antenna is made of cheap metal that is hot glued in the tablet.

Im planning to replace it with proper internal antenna.

The white one from my router.
