Why do I need an Android Phone associated with my acct to download Netflix Applicaton

I have a Skytex Akypad Alpha (just bought). When I navigate to the Android Market site and try to download Netflix I get a message "There are no Android phones associated with this account." The account that shows in the upper right corner is my gmail account. How would I associate a phone with this account?

That's not right. Try going to settings-manage apps- find market in all apps and clear data for it then restart it.
