Hi all

Does anyone know if a UK purchased WM8650 Android tablet will work in the USA using a locally sourced data sim? I am heading for Florida for a vacation and want to use my tablet for internet using a dongle (unlocked for worldwide use) and locally purchased data sim.

Any advice greatly appreciated

Thanks

I don't see any reason why not, you just need the settings off the company who's sim you are using in the US.

The US uses 850 (AT&T) / 1900 (T-Mobile) frequencies whereas the rest of the world uses 900/1800 frequencies. Check if your modem supports the different frequencies. But given the limitations of modems compatible with the WM8650, I doubt it. Check the manual of the modem and borrow a US SIM card first if you can.
