Xoom will not send or forward from email account

I have a new Xoom with Honeycomb. I have been away from home and am connected to new wiifii. I can send and receive from gmail no problem. I can receive but cannot send or forward from my E-Mail account. It responds. Unable to open connection to server
Obviously I am new at this so be patient.
