There isn't such a thing as a new back for the TF201's...!

That may be, but from what I have read, Asus is reparing the 201s under warranty, by replacing the backs with a new one.
Unless you have had yours fixed under warranty and can say for certain that the fix is not a new back, I will tent to hold to what I heard earlier.
If you have had yours fixed then I defer to your warranty experience.

I suggest you check out the forums at Android & Windows Phone: Tablets, Apps, & ROMs @ xda-developers. there is no new back, and support is terrible. Rma process has been going terrible. Also check out the YouTube video on pinching the case to get wifi to work. Doesn't seem like a good solution. I'm not an Asus fan right now and returned my prime.

I owned two primes from BBuy and I returned both of them due to horrible backlight bleed. Weak wifi and BT/WIFI fallout is the primary culprit. You're in for a world of hurt, IF, you get the wrong prime. As far as I've seen, its a gamble.
