Buying older tablet - unused or used?

I want to buy a Samsung A7 or A8 tablet. Will I do better with a used tablet (whose electronics have been used, and battery cycled but probably not left flat for long) or an unused tablet (with battery left flat for years)? Or a new Teclast at similar cost?

I wouldn't go with an off brand. I also wouldn't go with a new old stock - what you refer to as unused - tablet unless you are prepared to replace the battery.

If you want an A7 or A8, a used one should be more than sufficient.
