Hitachi has developed a capacitive touch screen that can be used while wearing gloves (those of us in Minnesota and other frigid lands will appreciate this!) and precision input from a stylus. I'm a graphic designer so I actually LIKE resistive touch screens so I can use a stylus for precision drawing instead of "finger painting." The development of a capacitive screen that also offers the advantages of both capacitive and resistive screens is really good news.

It's slated to be available in devices in the latter part of next year, so I'd fully expect the next generation of higher-end Android tablets will have screens like this.
