Please besides rudroid 1,988 v.04 which other rom mod 2.xxxxx for epad 128 mb has been released. Thanks

Hi redeagle,

in fact you can mod the ROMS quite easily to match your amount of ram:

1. copy the scriptcmd from the rom you want to mod, rename it to script.txt

2. Edit script.txt with WinVI: WinVi - Download (You need a text editor that handles LF-only line endings)

3. Erase the binary header, the first few "strange" lines, the first script line is a setenv command, or mmcinit.

Edit the new ram size in the script.txt:
use mem=237M for 256MB models and use mem=109 for 128MB models.

4. Also, depending on the rom, change swap to e.g. 256MB swapping instead of e.g. 128MB by setting user.conf swap info to 256MB.

5. Execute mkimage: -A arm -O linux -T script -C none -a 0 -e 0 -n "info" -d script.txt scriptcmd (www.hyfse.com/armVT8500/mkimage-win.zip)

6. copy the new scriptcmd to your rom, make always a backup of the original.

It didn't work for me... followed all the above steps and the ROM still won't install to my slate... just skips to the last OS... any ideas?

some rom do not go it tries 7c and the 7e that they go sure
follow the procedure described from romantic evil
practically it changes alone the 237M with 109M in two distinguished points of the rows scriptcmd

bye
