Extending battery?

I can't quite get a full day out of the battery on my 8024...are there apps you can stop to give you more time? Can you do that without dl app killers so i have control of what is running?

Thanks Spider...good link.

When I check Settings>Applications>Running Services I do see what is running and can stop processes. Right now it says:
Other:43MB in 2
Avail: 65MB+165MB in 13

Not sure what that means BUT it looks like it is easy to stop things if I want to stretch out my battery for an extra hour. I do sync e-mail and exchange calender BUT I could set the auto synch time to 1 hour.

Also something that helped save my battery was turning down the brightness of my screen.

I've also found that some video players use software decoding, not HW. This wastes a lot of energy. USB in host mode tends to drain the battery too.
