It is actually very nice. Very few quibbles. my only real complaint is sleep not working, will wake up randomly. Heads up to whoever is interested and has a Kmart nearby. Local Kmarts (Puerto Rico) have it advertised for $149 tomorrow from 6am to 1pm, so it may go down to $139 stateside which was the black friday sale price.

This looks pretty awesome for only $200! But what kind of touch screen is it, though?

It's a (NOT?) resistive multitouch touchscreen. There's also an identical looking tablet called the LonPad D7, which has a Google Market enabled firmware for download.

$200 is too high for this tablet. It was a decent deal when it was $140 at K-Mart during Black Friday, which is closer to what you ought to be paying for it.

Here's an unbranded OEM version on Alibaba for the 2GB ROM version, listed 780 yuan for 20 units or more (120US). This is one of the more expensive configurations for the TCC8902 today.

Here's their press release on their webpage

How about the Hero Tab RK7, looks really nice and Merimobiles has it for 149.00, but all the other sites want 399.00, what gives with that, is it ok to buy from Merimobiles

It's a resistive multitouch touchscreen.

I have been using mine for a couple of days now, and I am pretty sure it is not multitouch. I do agree that it is not a good deal unless you get it on sale.
Also, it is no longer waking from sleep mode by itself after the update. I probably will keep it.

Good if you want HDTV features and like playing 3D games on it. If not QVC has brought back the Pandigital 9" today for the same price $199.99 but this time free shipping with no interest payments.

The Coby does look good on HSN today, but I just ordered the HeroTab RK7 on the Merimobile site, I hope this was a good idea, please let me know what you think. :)

I have not seen the Herotab hands on but looking in Merimobile, features and specs look vitually the same, except for battery (3600ma on the Coby vs. 1400ma on the Herotab) so only difference should be battery life and of course build quality could be better or worse. Seems like a nice tablet.

Merimobiles is a poor decision at this point.

Your Herotab listing is the previous version OEM Kyros MID7005, without the G-sensor and multitouch, as you can read in the comments. Merimobiles has the G-sensor + Multitouch version listed as the X5A: Herotab X5A Multitouch Gsensor 800Mhz Android 2.1 1080P HDMI/USB+free case

Ordering from Merimobiles is more expensive, gets you less features, means you have to wait for a week before you even see the thing, and nets you relatively poor return policies. Americans have better choice than we do. Canadians now have the 7015 on Dell Canada, but that's it.

Both the Coby MID7005-4G (this has 2x USB ports) Coby MID7015-4G (has 1x USB port) both are marketed for 800MHz but they're really only 720MHz
