MIDX5A - How does one reset this

Santa brought a MIDX5A tablet. Occasionally there was a problem which necessitated the battery being fully drained and then recharged to serve as a reset. Is there a key combination to press or a pinhole to poke to reset this device? Also now, pressing the power on button only activates the green power light for a couple of seconds then the light goes off, without the device powering up. Has anybody had this problem? How was it resolved?

My X5A has a small hole right next to SD Card slot. (about 4-5mm) to one side. For me there is a small microswitch button. If you lightly press that, I get a power reset. Mine is about 4 Month old.

I am curious. What is causing your lockups. My X5A has been about the most rock-solid device I have. I have not needed to force a reboot more than 3-4 times.

I have the same provblem with my x5a ,it all happened after it fell on the floor,it seemed to lock up,nothing worked.switched it off/back on -but only got android splash screen-the green one.I tried the update posted in an earlier article and now when i power it up it show the "i love you" screen and then dies-unless you keep on the power switch-after which it goes into the first time setup procedure-as long as you keep your finger on the button!!!!but after you release the button -it goes dead.AND I GET SAFE MODE ON THE SCREEN ON THE BOTTOM LHS.CAN ANYONE HELP ME TO FIX THIS????????

X5a / X6d Factory Reset

The later versions of the X5a / X6d have a mechanical method of entering factory reset if you are unable to switch the device on and go through the android menu system.

Firstly, start with the device turned off.

Press and hold the Power button & Home key until you see the android logo with an inset exclamation mark.

Let go of the buttons and press the Menu button at which point you will have some options on screen.

Select factory reset and, once done, your tablet will turn off

Switch on again and allow to boot
