new to android tablets from chicago illinois

Good evening and Happy Holidays to everyone. I am new to android but not new to tablets and computers.... I use all apple products for my computers and had an ipad until it grew legs and walked out of my. Got a proscan 9 inch tablet with a case and keyboard for an early christmas present. It seems to be decent and it is running android 4.4.2 kit kat whatever that means. for what i use it for.... it seems like it will be a very useable device especially when i dont want to carry the macbook pro around.
