I just hacked (it's not really a hack.. more of a jailbreak) my friend's White PDN. I know little about the device (as evidenced by it taking me 30 mins to successfully load the firmware onto this little beast!)

Some issues:

  • I can't get the market to work.
  • I can't find an easy way to switch from the Android home to the original home so she can use it as an eReader (I found a stupid workaround but it's...well..stupid!)
  • I did find that the VOL DN button works as a BACK button.

What version of the Android OS does the reader come with? Cupcake? Eclair? Froyo?
What is the highest version that is available for it? Is there an app in the app drawer that loads the original home launcher?

2.1 is highest thus far and that is what the new ones come with.

Which market, slideme, amazon or android. If you speak of android, it does not work without a hack, the other two usually work fine.

If it was new there is a Barnes and Noble icon that gets you to the stock book reader.

If you downloaded from the pandigital site with the updater program you should have 2.1 and slideme. You can go to amazon and get their market.
