This is a list of apps that run well and are useful/fun on our 8650 tablets: free, paid, doesnt matter...Here are the ones Ive used so far by category:
(edit: i update this list so check back to see if there is an app i find to run well on the wm8650 tablet! I will date the updates so you can check quickly; I invite everyone to post the apps they find run well and are useful! I will mark PAID APPS with a $$$ symbol)

GAMES:
Angry Birds: If I turn the backgrounds off this game runs just fine for me.
Slice: reminds me of the old arcade game Qix and is just as fun and addictive. (jezzball clone)
Toss it: Same game paper toss, but for some reason the latter doesnt run well while this one runs just fine. (Its free, but liked it so much i bought full ad-free version)
Dante's Inferno: an overhead dodging type game, i have to run it on low graphics but it runs just fine that way and it still looks good.
Labyrinth lite: If i turn off the 3d effect it runs perfectly!
Pacific Wings: Same style game as 1942 for the NES.
Abduction! : Jumping cow game, uses your accelerometer as directional controls. very smooth and addictive!
Free Running: you run against your will. your two choices are jump or roll, very similar game to robot unicorn attack.
Jewels: This is a bejeweled clone and it works very well!
Ant Smasher: Addictive game where you smash bugs, but watch out for bees!
My Roulette: I like to play roulette and this is an excellent game if you like it too!
Balance the beer it is what it sounds like and uses your accelerometer to control.
Air attack lite platform shoot planes with a bazooka game.
Amazed The graphics arent very fancy, hell they arent even pretty but the game runs smoothly an d the gameplay itself is addicting.
Pinball Deluxe: Excellent graphics and even realistic feel to this game. Runs nice and smooth.
Tower of clumps reminds me of an old build a tower game for the atari except with better graphics. simple but fun game.
Light Racer 3d basic this is about the only truly 3d/open gl style game my tablet can run (that ive found so far) and it can only do it if you drop the graphics as low as they will go...but if you do the game will run fine. 3rd person chase view of the old tron light bike game.
Ripples: you explode a dot to make other dots explode and try to explode as many as you can...simple but elegant graphics. mesmorizing.
Space Man Reminds me of the world two dungeon from mario 3.
Nesoid Lite Plays NES ROMS Make sure you take off scaling and set it to original size in the settings and set maximum page skipping to 4 and your games will run smoothly.
4/25/11Meteor: An arkanoid clone; the graphics are good, the gameplay is VERY smooth. a very enjoyable and addicting game!
4/25/11Angry Turds: this falling ball game is actually fun and plays well.
4/27/11Bubble: shoot colored marbles at like colored marbles in 3 or more.
4/28/11Pirates & Traders: Runs perfectly, very fun very addictive game!
$$$ 4/28/11Majesty: I got it free on Amazon market (they do a free paid app everyday) it is very similar to Warcraft I/II and the graphics are very nice.
4/28/11Pipes: Try to make all of the red pipes green by connecting them all.
4/28/11Crystal Wars: Hard to describe, but its easy and fun.
$$$ 5/2/11Pool Break Pro: A 3d pool/carrom/snooker game. turn the graphics down a bit and it will run fine! Got it free on amazon app market since they do a paid app free everyday.
5/2/11Space STG: A turn based strategy game; build resources, develope planets, etc etc.
5/4/11Ninja Rush : Similar game play as robot unicorn attack...run forward, jump and shoot shurikens.
5/6/11The Sims 3: it is what it says. displays only on one quarter of screen but it works and looks nice.
5/12/11Pew-Pew: Like Asteroids on steroids, eh? 30fps!!
$$$ 5/12/11Air Control: Addicting game that runs 24-30 fps!

General Purpose Apps (office suites, ebook readers, media players, etc)

$$$ Documents to go :the full version came with my tablet, on the markets this app costs 14.99. I can see why...it really is a full fledged office suite and has word, power point, excel, and pdf reader.
Olive Office Editor : if you need a FREE office suite app. not as polished as docs 2 go, it works just as well.
iReader An awesome e-book reader. if your tablet came stock with this app, get rid of it and download the version on the various android markets. I preffer .mobi file extension e-books and if it ever asks you to view as text or html, always choose text. the 3d/lifelike page fliping effect is smooth and neat! Also can read txt files and a few other formats...buit not all of them...but for those others there is...
FBreaderJ: Reads all the ebook filetypes that ireader doesnt, it doesnt have the page turn effect of the ireader, but its page turning is smooth and clean none the less. Ive downloaded all my favorite classics from project guttenburg on the web...
Frostwire The linux version of limewire, except without the adware. runs perfect.
Skype BETA and emphasis on the BETA as the regular version will just freeze up on you.
Scanner Radio: I have the paid version (because I loved it so much, but there is a free version too. Turns your tablet into a police/emergency band scanner!
Tricorder it turns your tablet into a star trek tricorder. if your a trekkie then this app is a must have! Actually works as a diagnotic tool to test your tablets functions like microphone, accelerometer, wifi, and others.
Aleatori lite:a dice roller. will rol a d20 or pick a card out of a 52 deck etc...
Spark: Nothing elaborate, just makes lighting sparks wherever you touch your screen, nothing more. it is pretty though.
4/25/11 Amazon Kindle: amazon has made an app of their reader and book store. the app is free and comes with three books. I tested it out and it runs well, any books you could want is available for purchase, the reader works pretty well.
4/27/11YouVersion Holy Bible : For those looking for a well designed e-bible with mutiple versions and search capabilities then this free app will do the trick.
4/28/11TuneIn Radio: Has every radio station around the world. does live streaming am and fm radio as well as delayed broadcasts.
5/3/11Featured Wallpapers:Thats the name of the app but it has the BEST wall papers ive ever seen!
5/6/11Meridian Player: Plays movies AND Music. interface is a little odd but it works great!

Internet Apps
Skyfire Web browser. Yes our WM8650's have flash 10.1 but you know as well as i do how anything besides youtube on the youtube app comes out choppy...skyfire has a built in video buffer that will let you watch any web-movie at an acceptable level! The web browsing is pretty good on it too.
Dolphin Browser: I preffer this over the Dolphin HD browser, but I leave it up to you which you preffer...both run well. If you need to view a java embedded page (things like nyan.cat) then use this browser over the others.
Opera Mini The fastest web browser ive found. Also gives access to the Opera App Market via the browser main page.
Fast Image Viewer free: If you havent figured it out yet, our tablets do not come with tthe ability to actually ANIMATE gif images...this app corrects that problem.
Dr. Web antivirus good performance with this and its 100% free.

System Tools
Advanced Task Manager find out your system specs and functions as an app killer. works well!
Watchdog Lite App killer but requires a long finger hold to bring up the kill option which i like so i dont accidentally kill an app i didnt mean to!
Better Keyboard 8 Without the actual android market you wont be able to buy the full version...but the free version works works and looks great.
Perfect Keyboard I tried the free version and decided to buy this one. works great! You can customize the colors of it and the style of the buttons a little bit in the paid version.
Thickbuttons keyboard: free. the keyboard adjusts the size of the letter buttons while you type by predicting which letters your most likely to use. give it a shot see if you like it.
Biffmod Wallpapers: gives you a new set of wallpapers to choose
Battery Life free Lets you know what percentage of power your battery has...but ALSO it can tell you how much longer your have before power runs out! it takes a few runs for it to calibrate but its very handy to have as a widget!
AndExplorer: Better than the stock file browser, allows you to explor root folders and such.
5/12/11Spare Parts: Can slightly modify the appearance of menu transitions and has some other tools as well.

Additional App Markets
Applanet: an excellent alternative android app market.
Amazon App Market Yes THAT amazon. they have an app market and its loaded with goodies.
SlideME App Market : another good market.
Cruz App Market has some great apps(make sure you turn off background updating in the options menu.)
5/3/11http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=162...ts.net/forum/private.php?do=showpm&pmid=42830 English version of chinese app market! Thanks to Dajo, we now have the english version of the app market that comes with our tablets!

well i hope my list has given you some more apps to try out. I just updated it again so keep checking back if you dont feel like being a guinea pig..

...I suppose I should note that i scrutinize these aps as well as virus screen them. many of them are ad supported but the ads arent obnoxious (well maybe angry birds can be if you have the free version but it only rarely gets obnoxious) and i refuse to download and install anything that needs permissions it has no earthly business needing.

ive been busy testing out a boatload new games...unfortunately the 8650 didnt have the muscle to run most of them, but there were a few that ran quite well and Ive added them to the games list.

Ive had that same luck with all the roms ive run on it...only problem is the multitouch factor for the controls...wonder if tablet will recognize a USB gamepad?

Don think so..gamepad usually requires drivers so i doubt u will be able to use it on the tablet

Ill have to try it; keyboard and mouse work. Im sure i can coax a gamepad into working...Android being a Linux distro im sure theres a way assuming it doesnt work off the bat.

And Dajo, I tested xPiano app. It works, but only one key at a time as I had mentioned earlier, our tablets are two point touch and not multi-touch therefore some multitouch apps work with it and some dont. still a fun little toy. I also tested an app called "Robotic Guitarist Free" it works surprisingly well and is a very useful too to anyone who plays guitar as it has a built in tuner and other stuff. go check that app out.

I tested DrumKit...it was...okay. The response was often sluggish and the drums didnt keep up with the rhythm of tapping too well. Drum Prodigy Pro (which is also a free app and seems more polished to me) responded better and had more options as well as looked better.
