[CFW] GingerLF - Custom GingerBread Android 2.3 for MID1024

AFAIK both launchers include much fewer wallpapers than stock Froyo. Probably Coby included more in a hidden place, hmmm...

Anyway, you can always use pics from Gallery (download your own) as wallpapers.

Just curious the wallpapers are included inside of the launcher.apk but only a few show up....no problem just curious

Some are, while others aren't. If you install a custom Launcher, it may show additional wallpapers in the gallery (or an additional wallpaper gallery).

I've already just went to my own wallpaper. Thechive.com has some good ones when they do HQ posts...

I think I've found the culprit for the slow boot, and it seems battery-related indeed.

Slow boot dmesg
Code:

Normal boot dmesg

[ 19.031414] mma7660_chip_init
[ 25.041790] ####[s5pv210 bat ]: poll_adc_raw(0).

For some reason, CPU is pooling battery status forever (~70s)... Now, what is causing this?

More info: the only other difference I could see so far is that this line appears much soon in slow boot:
Code:
[ 11.396905] android_usb gadget: high speed config #1: Android Composite

It's a mass storage driver for Android. I wonder what is triggering it sooner, and maybe it's interfering with battery loading?

Lfom,

Question for ya. I loaded into the stock theme. can I do something to force it into the honeycomb theme or will that require a Re-Flash of the entire thing?

Reflashing is safer, but you can try killing Launcher2, pushing the contents of the honeycomb folder to NAND using adb then reboot. I haven't tested it tho. If it doesn't work you may need to re-flash.

I still love your Rom, but is there no fix for the slow boot. I have tried reflashing and Factory Reset. My 1024 boots just great until I install an app. Doesn't matter what app. I'm using the HC theme with the Galaxy S fingerprint

Second boot after reset or flash is about 35 seconds from Coby screen to Lock screen. I then installed Flash player 11 and Adode Air. Boot time after that went to 40 seconds. I installed a few more apps:
Kindle, Dolphin Browser HD, Olive Office Premium, Quick Pic, Rock Player Lite, and YouTube

At this point boot time is 1:01:08 (36 seconds of that is on the bubble animation).

One last thing. I kept the included Market version, but Gmail no longers shows up in available apps since I Reset.

Thanks again for the great cook.

I am still investigating it and the info you've provided is very useful! Now I know what apps to test.

Possible cause: system partition gets full (no empty space).

I will take a deeper look, and hopefully the next version won´t have this problem...

Yeah, I've just got the notification! Unexpected (I am still learning), but it was a nice surprise! I've already thanked forum admin for it. ;)

Congratulations LFOM!!!

What is the file's size? In the minus page says 118M, but my download stop in 113 and the file appear corrupt. Didn't unzip.

Congrats lfom! We all appreciate your knowledge on this.

On a side note, are the forums slow for you guys too? I am having a terrible time with both the android app and the browser.
