Have any of you managed to use an external DVD player with android? I'd like to be able to do this when I travel...

Thank you,

I do not think so. This was never the intent of a tablet. It can recognize OTG storage via USB Port but not passthrough Video from another direct externally powered source

Never tried it. Wonder if that sort of thing will work actually. Easiest to rip it to flash memory

just decided to experiment on a zt-180 it blanked out the screen most likely the power drain is too much for the tablet. i use this external dvd on a acer netbook and it has the double usb configuration one for power one for connection

one of the best pieces of advice someone on here gave me (I think it was a mod) was to not think of the tablet as a PC. android OS is limited in comparison to a PC but it is still a great resource.

your best bet is to rip the dvd into a tablet compatible file

What ripping software do you suggest? I was unable to find any, hence why I asked

Thanks,
Richardo
