Newbie problems!

Good day all!
Now as far as Android is concerned I am a complete newbie.
I just got a VIGO 7" tablet for my 72nd birthday and father's day
and I have one real serious problem. It recognises my local wireless
network OK but I cannot get into the Google play area either on the
tablet or my main computer. As a result I can't download Apps or any
thing else. What is the procedure for registering on the Google site?
The weird thing is that I have over 45 years experience with computers.
But not with linux and its derivatives.
Can anyone help a lost sheep!!!

You need to be logged into a google account to use the Play Store. I am not sure if your table has the google apps on it but if it does just log into the gmail app and you should be good to go.

Sign up with gmail then they will take u thru to everything to get u going.

Hi there, I was trying to sign up with GMail from my computer, I just could'nt get in but I just kept on going but finally gave up in the end. So I tried my tablet to sign up and bingo everything was on the go from there. Downloading is so fast. Its great.
