I've heard rumors of an update to Froyo, which could help the speed of this device, but I'd still hold out for something with a faster CPU.

It's got a 3000Mah battery and capacitive touch screen, Android 2.1 and App Market in the demo unit we reviewed.

You can check it out here:

Cheers!

Sorry but our main website is down for a few more days!

Nice video Tai-Pan/Tim. Looks like a sweet device despite the rockchip processor. I hear it can be upgraded to 2.2 too. Is this true?

$199 for a Rockchip RK2818? That's pretty pathetic actually. It's nice that someone has been able to order all the right parts and slap something together for once, but $199 is way too much. It is an interesting choice though.

The CPU on this looks a little slow. Hopefully we'll start seeing more of these in the states early next year.

Well my wife really likes the iPad screen, so I wanted to go with a capacitive screen. I purchased the unit from **********, from a seller with 100% rating. Ask to make sure it has market, which it does. However it currently does not support flash. I read several forums that talked about a 2.2 upgrade, but haven't found anything that is 100% sure it's coming. Say it takes 3 days to process and 5 days to ship, should get just before the holidays. It was between this, imx515, and G10. After watching all the videos it seems the cap screen makes a HUGE difference when using fingers as a stylus. I hope I made the right choice, if anything I'll craigslist and upgrade.

According to your signature you have a Apad with a Rockchip. How much did you pay for yours if I may ask? What are the best processors out there?

I paid $150 for my Apad back then. I don't have that anymore.

New Shanzhaiben article for the tablet. Looks like they were paid by the manufacturer, because the review is too positive to be worth anything except the pictures. Screen quality is good.

Anyone think this is a good bet? The improved processor coupled with that capacitive screen is looking mighty tempting.
