The uploader said the file was too large ( 104.26 MB ) system.tgz

DOWNLOAD LINK HERE: MID9742-system.tgz , 104.26 MB
http://www.tempfiles.net/download/201205/241647/MID9742-system.html
(file erased afer on hour)

-------------------------------------------------
I thought I already had the proper drivers.
The PDAnet Driver would not install (wouldn't recognize my phone/device)
PDAnet Driver download: http://topnotchtablets.com/installADBdriver

I had to follow the troubleshooting instructions at http://junefabrics.com/android/driver.php
(Basically, I had to first install the LG, Samsung and Motorolla Drivers first. )

Then I Restarted my computer. Then successfully installed the PDAnet Driver.
Pluged in USB cable, went to Settings, Development, USB Debugging checked. Ran the dump.bat. Script ran successfully (2-3 minutes)
Dropped the system.tgz file in the same folder as the dump.bat file.

Sorry, you must run the root.bat script here first, then run the fw_dump2 script afterwards.

When you run the Root Exporer App, (downloaded from 1moblie.com)
Look at the Top left corner.
Do you see both R/o AND r/w ... OR do you only see R/O ?

Please, always mention your tablet name.
People viewing this thread have different tablets. So mentioning the name would be helpful.
Thanks

root checker is incorrect there.

Setuid attribute and root user ownership are present, but permission to execute as a non-root user is not present
Correct permissions for root access should be -rwsr-sr-x root root

Coby put a line that basically disables root in /init.sun4i.rc:
Code:
chmod 6750 /system/xbin/su

Btw I have removed this line in the restore firmware, so it should be fully rooted.

@Joe .... the Highlighted part is just a switch.
when it reads r/o on the right and R/W on the left HIGHTED > Tap on the HILIGHTED R/W (does the HIGHLIGHTED Turn to r/o
When you tap the highlight does it change from: r/o TO R/W ? R/W TO r/o ????

Well this is interesting. on my 7042 I have ran coby_root3 from previous post. I had to reboot because I was trynig to install IceCreamSandwich-4.0.3-Google-Play-Script from another post that I found. I have root explorer inatalled and tried from / to change from r/0 to r/w. It failed. I launched SuperSU and it tells me that it needs to be updated. I allowed and then went back to the root explorer and was able to change root explorer to r/w.
