UPDATE: Well, it didn't work, but I found this that did get DSP Manager working! Funny thing is, I have to use "phone speaker" to adjust headset... but hey, it works now!!!

UPDATE UPDATE: Never mind... Sometimes sound stops all together and just make a crackling noise (from the speaker) at boot-up and it may begin working (or it may not) after 5-10 minutes. Also, even when the sound decides to work, the DSP Manager is even more dodgy. It was rock-solid in regards to audio performance before I flashed the Beatz Audio and restoring my backup does not rectify the issue, which is really, really weird. I am wondering what could have changed in the OS that would not be corrected by restoring a CWR image I made before doing any of this testing!!!

I think that CM9 libs are just to strong for the d2pad, tb rom seems to work the best with this tablet. Sound and performance is better. I was working on CM10 but have stopped performace is very bad on d2pad. TB will be released soon, you can try it if you want.

How does TB perform compared to stock? and will it run on both 08 and 09 versions of the D2?

I have tested vampirefo's TB ROM on my 08 version and can confirm it is very stable and a good performer. Also, myfishbear's rom is working well too. Both roms have the bloatware removed and thereby free up system resources. Form what I understand, the TB rom is more of a ground-up build that was ported for the D2 while the fishbear rom (can I call it that?) is a stock rom for the D2 that has been stripped-down and optimized. Either way, they are both winners for 08 D2 tablets and I think the only way to decide between them is to try them both out.

Thanks,

I have a 09 and stock is running at 1.2ghz. I saw that fishbear wanted to keep it at 1.1 or lower for his rom. What speed is TB rom running at?

08s and 09s have diffrent hardware and kernels. if you post a backup of your tab i can whip somthing up for you. i would not install either rom cuz it is for 08s. the only one id try is this one for 09s http://www.androidtablets.net/forum/allwinner-a10-based/48524-drom.html
you can use this to install 09 recovery and make a backup http://omniimpact.com/android/roms/myfishbear/d2pad D201209Bxxxxx SN/d2pad recovery D201209Bxxxxx SN on back.rar

Here is a CW Recovery backup and build.prop of a D201209B after installing CM-KA018-D2-20121019-6.img from the d2pad website.

I have the D2pad with 209 in the model name. I could use some help

the thunderbolt mod installs fine, but cannot update anything. Updates for ES Explorer for example will update for several minutes.... internal SDcard appears to not exist.

"d2pad hax D201209Bxxxxx SN on back.zip" will not install at all. 2 seconds and it aborts.

Any suggestions?

sdcard is any easy fix,

as far as updating most likely you didn't wipe before install, do a factory reset.

to fix sdcard, use ES Explorer set root options navigate to /system/etc open vold.fstab

scroll down to this line.

dev_mount sdcard /mnt/sdcard auto /devices/virtual/block/nandi

change it to this

dev_mount sdcard /mnt/sdcard auto /devices/virtual/block/nandk

save and reboot

all you are changing is an i to a k in the word nandi you change it to nandk.
