Here is a tweak of MCL's rom with the only change being that I tweaked the defult.prop to look like a Nexus 7.

Daft question what benefit does this bring ? will it enable the tablet to be seen as a nexus and buy apps / games like GTA which say they're not compatible with our devices when really they are ?

Yes. With this ROM, the Play Store should see the tablet as a Nexus 7, and thus let you download and install any app that's compatible with the Nexus 7.
