Download the firmware you want, extract it and copy the entire folder called "dload" to a SD card, put it in your device and re-boot. You will see the ROM upgrade in process and at the end you will see a OK message. Take the card out and reboot, the only way you can is by removing the battery. You are all set. If you forget to take the card out it will go back into the ROM upgrade mode.

Thanks, this way worked great, after the download it took only about 10 minutes to be back up and running. Everything seems really nice on this update.

I had a look and installed the rom for the singapore s7. Though for me it's not caused the device to clock faster, and it's still running at 768MHz.

What was the name of the firmware that you tried? Was it V100R001C51B011?

And looking again at that page with the roms listed, one person is reporting that they're using V100R001C60B011 not C5B011.

I might of grabbed the wrong firmware =)

Ok I will stick to the old rom I get quadrant scor of 675
thanks

There are a lot of variables to consider when comparing benchmark scores. I find it best to rely on the feel of the rom and this rom feels snappy. My droid eris can get higher scores than the s7 but it is nowhere near as fast.

I have tried both and they feel about the same. Like someone else here has mentioned I am not a big beleiver in benchmarks and go by "my" user experience and I definately feel these are snappier than the stock ones. As for clocking from what I can tell they are both clocked at 768 but with SetCPU I can set it higher. At least that is my interpretation when I run SetCPU. The 2 files have a different compile date one is late November and the other is early December.

If you install the kernal on the other one I know for sure its running over clocked I can get resident evil 2 to play a lot faster then stock
Just install linpack on this rom run the test And it will show you the real cpu speed when you save

I have just flashed S7100R001C60B011 firmware (actually I flashed it twice because I forgot to take the sdcard out! Duh!)
Just going to pull the battery and will report my findings.
Stay tuned:D
