Ok I've read this entire thread and feel like I'm prepared to make the jump to a new ROM, however I have a few lingering questions.

  1. Do I need the huawei firmware tool and if so where can I get it? I didn't see it listed under the downloads section of the huawei ideos s7 product page.
  2. I've read the most feedback about the Singapore ROMs so I'm going in that direction. Right now I have S7V100R001C60B011 and I am SLOWLY getting S7V100R001C51B011 (actually I think it has timed out, where's a good alternative source to download?). Which is better? What's the difference? Etc...
  3. Are there any back up utilities I should know about to back up my current ROM in case I want to go back? I've seen mention of utilities to back up the applications and data. Any recommendations on that?
  4. Any advise you gentlemen/gentlewomen wish to instill upon me before I begin my adventure into the semi familiar?

Thanks in advance!

1) it's part of the downlaod
2) the newer one is better i think, but i never tried the old one
3) clockworkmod recovery + nandroid, or titanium backup
4) the only thing is loss of data. backup

I downloaded the S7V100R001C51B011 ROM and loaded in onto my S7. The CPU is showing 998 mhz in setcpu however in settings under about tablet the build is showing as S7V100R001C00B037. What should it show up as?

Anyone with the S7V100R001C51B011 ROM care to tell me what build they are showing in about tablet? I think I have managed to get myself stuck in the recovery image.
