The day I bought my MID7015 I read Coby was coming out with new tablets. I figured I would hold on to the 7015 for 30 days than upgrade. Yesterday was the big day! It looks like these with 2.2 are the same as the delayed models with 2.3. Perhaps when the delayed models are out, it will be an easy upgrade.;)

April 4th is the big day. Wonder if Z4Root will work? Also can Google market be installed as an apk?

Thanks

Get a camera and do an unboxing and initial scroll through. What was the pricetag?

Most other android devices can be rooted...I don't see why a 2.2 tablet from Coby (who seem to have no problem with their products being modded) would be any different.

Not bad. What are you doing with your 7015? Gonna ebay it to recoup or just keep it as a practice pad for future mods on the 7024? Curious...I was considering doing the same, but after the root and now that I'm getting more familiar with the Android OS and tablet capabilities, I am considering just rolling with the 15 for a while, haha.

The 7015 has a different processor than the new one. It is under the 30 day return policy at the store I purchased from so I'm just going to return it. Besides, I paid more for the 7015 than the 7024. Already have a M001 collecting dust and a Wits sitting around.

Can someone recommend how to root and add google market to a Coby mid7024?
Also what are some apps to try out?

Thanks,
Vynlora

Good to see these available now. Do you have it? Did you try Z4ROOT on it?

Humm, I didn't think they were already available... cool!
Can you post some pics of it? How do you like it so far?
I'm really considering swtching to a capacity screen kyros, can't wait for the prices to drop in summer.

I'm interested in one of these as well. On the Coby site, it says that the MID7024 has a 7.4V 2000mah battery and comes with a 9V charger. The MID7015 has a 3.7v 4500mah batteries with 5V chargers. I noticed that the MID7026, which has the same processor as the MID7024, is listed as having a 3.7v 4000mah. This is the same power rating as the MID7024 but the different voltages seems screwy. Also, this is about 2Wh less power than the MID7015's battery. Would it be possible that this newer processor Samsung S5PV210 (Cortex A8), rated at 1Ghz, uses less power than the MID7015's Telechips TTC8902 at 800mhz? If not, whatever the voltage, the MID7024 has about a 10% less powerful battery than the MID7015. Any help on figuring this out would be appreciated.

Hi, i've done many research to find the right tablet for me that won't be over $200. I've read some good reviews of Kyros compare to other Chinese brand tablet. I'll make it short and get straight to my question. I am planning to get the Kyros 7024. I am not sure how the previous model do with PDF magazines and text reading? Does the Kyros even support pdf or html ? If yes, how does the kyros do with pdf magazine file? I purchase the previous chinese ereader, and the pdf loading was horrible. It lags and freezes all the time, so i returned the device. What video format does the kyros supports?

I keep my 7015 next to the bed and use it to read the news in the morning while drinking my coffee. It does have a member created rom on it instead of the factory rom and does great for my needs. I don't know if I've used a PDF on it but my experiences with PDF's and ereaders or tablets have been hit or miss.
