Sorry it took so long to get these posted, I didn't have the script with me after all so I just remade it.
Since I remade the script I made two versions. I think the names are descriptive enough.

If you look at the utscripts with a text editor you can see the differences.

Download the Haipad M7 0506 file
Unzip it and copy the contents to the root of your SD card
Replace the utscript with either of the utscripts above depending on whether you want to replace the logo or not. Just make sure you rename the file to utscript.
Power up in recovery mode.
(I have messed up my recovery mode so it doesn't work as such it launches the program immediately)

The recovery mode looks for files first on the internal SD card and then on the external SD card,so make sure that you don't have a utscript on the internal card when you start recovery mode.

Had you installed another version first? Which version of 2.2 had the volume buttons working?

Dang! It's almost tempting to buy a new Coby just to try this! Must...resist...Gingerbread...

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!! My bricked tablet is now working again after your help. Even if it's not the original stock ROM ... I finally have the tablet back up and running! Thanks a ton!

did you swap out the files to get your home button and soft buttons working?
